Job Description
For one of our clients we are looking for a Project Manager at Alkmaar. Our client has a dynamic team comprising the Project Manager, Works Manager, and Project Engineer, collectively responsible for delivering successful projects. Our focus lies in ensuring contractual compliance, operational efficiency, and engineering precision.
Your Role:
As a Project Manager, you play a pivotal role in orchestrating project success, serving as the liaison between clients and the internal project team. You will be located in Alkmaar.
Your responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Sales & Contract Management to optimize work scope and resource allocation;
- Consulting with fellow Project Managers to deploy Works Managers effectively and ensure adherence to quality standards;
- Appointing and guiding Works Managers and Project Engineers;
- Maintaining a steering role within the project, balancing client expectations and internal project dynamics;
- Independently executing tasks with a results-oriented approach, seeking guidance from the Operations Manager or Sales Manager when needed;
- Supporting and overseeing the project team's activities while ensuring compliance with operational directives;
- Following instructions from the Operations Manager and reporting progress accordingly;
- Contractual agreements are negotiated by the Sales Manager or Contract Manager in consultation with the customer;
- Collaboration between sales, engineering, and operations shapes the project scope;
- Project engineering, including documentation preparation, is overseen by the Project Engineer;
- Operational preparations, initiated by the Works Manager under the Project Manager's direction, commence as the project execution date nears;
- Regular communication with site teams and stakeholders ensures alignment on project progress and timelines;
- Project close-out meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring adequate operational capacity and resource allocation for project execution;
- Upholding quality, safety, cost control, and adherence to project timelines;
- Supervising and training Works Managers and Project Engineers;
- Facilitating effective communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and handle variation orders and invoicing;
- Maintaining overall accountability for project budget compliance;
- Identifying opportunities for enhancing project organization and process efficiency;
- Adhering to SCL, ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum of HBO level education with a relevant technical background;
- Previous experience in project leadership roles within contracting, offshore wind, or maritime industries is preferred;
- Demonstrated flexibility, proactive mindset, and commitment to project delivery;
- Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to work independently;
- Proficiency in creative problem-solving and attention to detail;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders;
- Assertive and persuasive communication style;
- Diligence in administrative tasks and reporting.
